Leicester Bryce Stovell, LeBron James: Father and Son?

LeBron JamesLeBron James certainly has a lot on his plate right now.  Will he sign with Miami? Should he stay with Cleveland? Should he join the Knicks?  Those are likely the primary thoughts consuming the young basketball star’s mind at the moment.  But there is someone else who wants LeBron on their team – or, in their family.  Leicester Bryce Stovell, a man claiming to LeBron James’ father is suing James and his mother for allegedly tampering with the results of a paternity test.

When Stovell contacted the family in 2007, LeBron (through his lawyer) agreed to a paternity test.  The results of which showed that Stovell was not LeBron James’ father, reports TMZ.  However, Stovell insists that LeBron and his mother, Gloria, covered up the results, “due to anger at perceived abandonment and conflict arising from his image as a successful fatherless child from the projects.”

Watching LeBron at an NBA game, Leicester notes that he was “struck by our similarity in appearance.”  Stovell also claims to remember his sexual encounter with Gloria, who he did not realize was 15 when they met at D.C. area bar.  (Stovell was 29 at the time.)  Though Gloria went back to her hometown in Ohio post hook up, she returned months later telling him she was pregnant with a boy named LeBron, Stovell continues.  He recalls saying, “Well if he’s mine, make sure he plays basketball.”

According to TMZ, “Leicester is now seeking $4 million from both LeBron and his mother – claiming fraud, defamation and misrepresentation.”

LeBron’s reps could not be reached for comment.
