Randall Cunningham’s Son Dies in Hot Tub

TRandall Cunninghamhe 2 year old son of retired football star, Randall Cunningham passed away Tuesday evening after he was found floating in the backyard hot tub of his home in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that “A woman at Cunningham’s house was with several children when she found the boy at about 4:30 pm. She removed the boy from the hot tub and began performing CPR.”

Police Lt. Dennis Flynn told the paper that paramedics brought the boy to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus.  He died at the hospital.

The Review-Journal states that while “Abuse and neglect detectives were investigating the incident… the drowning appeared to be an accident.”

Cunningham became a Pastor after retiring from professional football in 2002, after a 17-year career in the NFL.  The quarterback first saw success for UNLV in the mid 1980’s and as a result, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1985.  He later played with the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens.
