Facebook Movie Trailer: The Social Network (WATCH)

When I heard they were making a movie about Facebook, I thought it was a joke. I mean, who makes a movie about a website?

Well, the joke’s on me, because, behold! Here is the lackluster trailer for The Social Network, a movie about your favorite anti-privacy social site, Facebook.

Due to hit theaters this fall, The Social Network is directed by David Fincher (Mindhunter, Heavy Metal, Black Hole) and stars Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, along with Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook’s founding president.

The movie gets its plot from Ben Mezrich’s novel “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal”.

The Social Network chronicles Zuckerberg’s efforts to develop Facebook from his Harvard dorm room, the fallout with his partners, and some other stuff about, umm,  sex, money, genius and betrayal. Which will probably play out to be the film equivalent of watching paint dry.

Without actually showing any scenes from the movie, the The Social Network trailer offers instead a few snippets of over-wrought dialogue, some buzzwords (PUNK, GENIUS, PROPHET, TRAITOR, BILLIONAIRE), and a rather ominous-sounding soundtrack.

It literally sounds like a movie that should involve espionage, a psycho slasher and a big body count, but this is a movie about a nerd who made a popular website, ferthelovagod.

I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions. Check out the trailer here:
