You might say to yourself, Seth Rogen is playing a superhero? What bizarro world did we enter? Are my hands about to be used as feet? No, you read that right. Seth Rogen is going to play a superhero. And it’s directed by Michael Gondry, who clearly knows his way around a movie camera. The movie prompted Seth Rogen to lose a ton of weight to get his look down to what a party-boy publishing scion would be at.
And overall? It looks good. Although the production was plagued with rumors that studio head honchos didn’t like the final product, and that Seth Rogen was a prick on set, for the most part, it looks like they might’ve actually pulled off a contemporary film Green Hornet adaptation. Although, I’m not sure who will go see the Green Hornet. Cut to a few months later, where I’m eating my words and the Green Hornet is breaking box-office records worldwide. That’s the sort of predicting ability we have here at Manolith.
