Twihards Be Camping For Twilight N’ Absintence

By Mark Lorenz on June 22nd, 2010

In a few days, Eclipse, the movie is premiering. How is this important to you and your day-to-day life? There are at least 600 people camped out to see the actors from the movie, right now.

Never mind that nothing good ever happens in an encampment, and that the sight was so weird, the passing Laker players TOOK PICTURES OF IT ON MONDAY. These women are committed. Oh-so-committed. For a vampire lover that they can call their own. At this point, it doesn’t matter what they’re camped out over. All they know is that other women are camping out and that activates something primal in them that makes them fly down from Canada, trek from all over the world, with tents, to set up shop in front of Nokia Plaza in the vague hope of catching a glimpse of the arrivals for the movie.

Like, not even to see the movie. Just to see the actors walk in to watch a movie that they made, and eat hors d’ouevres. That’s what they’re camping out for.

It’s either a sad commentary on the people doing it, or on us as a whole, that we’re so starved for entertainment or sex that we camp out for anything with a whiff of both.
