Lakers Win: Meet your 2010 NBA Champions (with Parade Details)!

By AAyles on June 18th, 2010

It was the moment basketball fans had been waiting for all season. The two best teams in the league went head to head for the coveted title of 2010 NBA Champions and the Lakers came out on top.

2010 Lakers Parade

This is the 16th NBA title for the talented team, who will celebrate their victory on Monday with a parade. The players and families of the players will board a float that will start at the Staples Center and follow a two-mile path down South Figueroa Street. The parade will end at the school’s Galen Center. In 2009 (the last year the Lakers won) more than 95,000 fans attended the popular parade.

NBA Finals MVP

The most valuable player award 2010 went to all-star Kobe Bryant who secured the title for the second year in a row. When talking to the press after the game, Kobe made his feelings for head coach Phil Jackson (whose contract is up this year) very clear.

“He knows how bad I want him back. I’ve told him that,” he said. “I’ve been openly blunt about that and told him how much I want him back. Let’s go for it again. Let’s go for it again.”

Runner-Up

The Boston Celtics came second in the championship – a rank that just didn’t cut it for many of the Celtics players.

“There were a lot of tears. A lot of tears,” Ray Allen said. “This is probably one of the hardest feelings that I’ve felt in my lifetime.”

Unfortunately for the Celtics, there can only be one winner – and this year it was the Los Angeles Lakers.

Sorry Boston, better luck next year!

I'm so glad they won. I'm a huge fan of Kobe Bryant. I have read on Project Weight Loss that the basketball player trains more than other NBA players. During the season it’s about weight training and building up his strength level. Anyway, I'm so proud of the Lakers.
