E3 Expo…See XBOX Game-Changers!!!

By Mark Lorenz on June 18th, 2010

The XBox 360 is the most technologically advanced home entertainment system on the market. And developers took full advantage of it at the E3 Expo.

No system will give you visuals more stunning than a 360 hooked up to a hi-def television set. That point was driven home with a few franchise sequels and a few surprising newcomers.

Rage – id Software – TBA (Next year)
Rage is made by the same people who brought you Wolfenstein, Doom, and is basically like a super first person shooter. Like Borderlands that came before it, it adds vehicular combat in a post-apocalyptic scenario and a wide open, free-exploratory environment with insane visuals, thanks to a new engine and megatexturing.

Portal 2 – Bungie
You might remember the first Portal — which was an attachment to Halo – being mind-bending, inventive, with a ridiculously stupid and catchy song. And you might’ve remembered that the cake is a lie. Well, at E3, the next universe-bending incarnation of Portal was debuted. And it looks just as weird as the first. Which is a good thing.

Halo : Reach – Bungie – 8/14
Reach is a prequel that lets you play as the part of the legendary squad of Spartans, who are the only line of defense between the Covenant and Earth. It’s Bungie’s most ambitious game yet, according to them. And they’ve made some pretty ambitious titles already.
