And rounding up our list of noteworthy games for modern consoles is the PS3.
The PS3 is often looked at as an underdog in a market that Nintendo and Microsoft have been able to dominate, but they’ve got some amazing titles in their own right. And this was driven home at E3.
Playstation Move
Playstation is looking to capitalize on the same audience that’s been powering Nintendo for years: every audience. The motion features on the Wii make it one of the easiest and most accessible systems to use. Just about every new PS3 title under the sun will take advantage of the Move.
SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs
The first Socom titles really brought home first-person cooperative shooting to the Playstation. But the 4th sequel will bring a totally overhauled single-player mission structure, and the multiplayer is massive. 32-players can compete online. And did I mention the graphics are insane? Yes. The graphics. They’re insane. And it’s motion-controlled. With the Playstation Move. Which may or may not be a good thing.
Medal Of Honor
It might be strange that the PS3’s most anticipated titles are first-person shooters, but I’m a first person shooting maniac. So I could care less. Medal of Honor is going to be handled by EALA, with DICE, makers of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 providing the multiplayer parts. So guess what? It’s going to kick your ass.
