Yesterday, the Electronics Entertainment Expo came to a close in the LA Convention Center. And I’m glad the Lakers didn’t win HERE, because all that amazing technology and advances would be lost.
Like the ancient libraries of Alexandria burning. Thankfully, they weren’t, so we have a number of games debuts which look incredible. Starting with the Wii.
Epic Mickey – TBR 9/16 – Wii
Disney is notoriously picky about how they use their characters, so when they announced a steampunk version of bizzaro-Disneyworld, everybody was up in arms. Interestingly enough directly licensed and ported Disney games are usually not that interesting, but when they take a risk and incorporate them into a different dynamic like Kingdom Hearts, it’s eye-popping.
Goldeneye 007 — TBR 11/01 – Wii
Goldeneye, the game, is legendary. It started the trend of insanely fun multiplayer, revolutionized the game industry, and many a late night was spent playing it. Well guess what? They’ve got a new one coming out in November. And I need a new pair of pants.
Donkey Kong Country – TBA – Wii
It seems like Nintendo surprised everyone. When the haters were crying out for more innovation, saying that the Wii was dead, they just mined the treasure-trove of their rich, franchise-starting past. Including DKC. They’re baaaaack
