A video taken on a citizen’s cell phone in Seattle is making headlines today and sparking outrage in many. A woman was punched in the face by a Seattle police officer after refusing to cooperate.
The incident occurred at about 3:10pm on Martin Luther King Jr Way South when 4 teens were caught jaywalking. The officer reportedly asked the female teens to come to his car so he could write a ticket but the situation quickly got out of control.
One of the female teens started walking away from the officer after he had asked her to come over to his vehicle. The women, clearly uncontrollable, refused to listen to the cop or adhere to his instructions.
After a few minutes of trying to get the woman under control, her friend steps into the picture to try and pull the cop off her friend. At this point, the cop is having extreme difficulty controlling the situation and resorts to punching the one female in the face.
The person taking the video is clearly upset and moves closer to the scene where he repeatedly says “are you serious.”
The cop is being investigated for using inappropriate tactics but many agree that the cop used as much force as necessary to control the situation.
I mean, I would never support socking a female in the face but these teens clearly don’t know how to respect authority. In my opinion, she got what she deserved.
Watch the video below and let us know if you think the cop was out of line:

shouldn’t a law enforcement officer know how to successfully control a suspect without getting punchy? not okay at all.
bitch deserved to get clocked – she was acting a fool
Just because Obama is the Prez, does not mean blacks can do what they want. Blacks cannot live in a peaceful society, they need chaos and riot behavior to survive… Authority figures are scum to them as they are taught from childhood.
The cop is way out of control. But the jackass racist comments on this page are even more disturbing.
Misleading headline. The jaywalking may have been what started it, but it wasn’t the cause of the punching. Have seen many a Youtube vid where someone got way more for way less.
The assault on the girl may provoke an instinctive ‘oooh’ from the audience, but it was absolutely not undeserved.
when people aggressively resist arrest like that they deserve that shit. Just because she is a woman doesn’t mean she should be allowed to assault a police officer with no consequences. What should the police officer have done? I think she got off easy, he should have cracked her in the knee with his night stick so she hit the floor.
to andy and bowz I bet if it were you family member black or white you would be outraged. Bowz not all black people are raised that way, I know some whites that would react the same way.
Connor, you are basically saying that whatever a cop does is fine with you. They want to manhandle someone, punch them in the face, whatever, for the supreme crime of jaywalking, then that is okay. And citizens don’t get to resist, ever. In fact, you even suggest that she deserved to be cracked in the knee with night stick. You are obviously in favour of police brutality. What should the cop have done? Maybe approached the woman calmly and gave her a warning. Better still, he should go try to catch some actual criminals and forget about jaywalking. What should you do? Seek help for your insane love affair with authority and your obvious fascist ways.
By the letter of the law, the cop was well within his right to use whatever force necessary.
Here’s the deal, people, if a cop is WRONG on a jaywalking, speeding or parking charge, you have the opportunity to contest it IN COURT. Not on the street. Take it to court and I can pretty much guarantee that on a first time offense, you’ll get it tossed for court costs.
All of the bystanders are technically guilty of obstruction, as well, not that that cop would want to open that bag, or he would have been lynched. Taking videos, etc. You can’t act like this–again, if a cop is in the wrong you get your day in court.
At least he didn’t tase her. I know several officers who would have gone straight for the electrics.
To the first commenter, how do you control a suspect who is actively resisting arrest? Say, “Please get into the vehicle,” repeatedly?
The particulars of this case aside, it is hard to argue that cops have become better at using common sense or upholding civil rights. In fact, things have been trending in the opposite direction for many years now: when not reaching for their often deadly tasers, cops routinely power trip and brutalize people for the smallest of offenses. That’s wrong. Cops are considered to be above the law. That’s wrong. Cops often beat on people for whatever reasons they want. That’s wrong. Cops are allowed to film the people but it is against the law to film them back. Check, wrong again.
Sadly, many citizens applaud this state of affairs even as their own rights disappear; but they are blind to what is happening because they are too busy telling the rest of us to shut the %#!@ up. That’s not just wrong; it’s scary as hell. Welcome to our 21st century police state folks!
The only glimmer of hope is that there are still some people who react to injustice as human beings should: with visceral and righteous indignation.
Here is a quick education for the two girls and the mob that surrounded the officer. As part of their punishment, the two assailants should be forced to watch it ten times. It will save another punch in the face.

I stand behind the officer 100%. They have a very hard job and idiots like her deserve what she got. How disrepectful can you get. It is true that ever since your President was elected that the Black society seem to think that they can do what they want and get away from. Now it won’t belong before Sharpton and Jackson join in on the lastest band wagon!! They are nothing but pieces of garbage!!!!
Citizens of any age, sex or color do not have the right to disobey an order from a police office, resist arrest and/or assault a police officer. Who doesn’t know this? Apparently, these girls who thought they were above the law.
she 100% deserved it and more !!
This almost defieys comment,40 years ago these girls own mothers would have smacked them for the disrespect that they demonstrated toward the peace officer and the total disregard to the law period black or white.kids today grow up without any mental discipline or ability to reason and think about the consequences of what they do.law enforcement is just that, people are killed everyday j-walking and its a crime, the officer was doing his public safety duties,he doesn’t need any other reasons.Right or wrong when the girl began resisting arrest he was well in his right to use whatever force necessary, and when everyone began ganging up on him that to disrespect his authority but i hope the girls moms had to bale them out of jail stupid, stupid stupid what he needed was backup if it had been me a few more would have went to jail for obstruction.
I think there are a lot of ignorant people on here posting comments. I find it funny that the only time a person can really say something racist is when they can hide behind a screen name. People grow up and grow some balls, if ur going to say something that’s off the wall like that say it infront of the race that you’re talking so poorly about… I bet all of you won’t do it. I hope for every person that said the girl that got punch deserved it, I hope that your mother, your grandmother and your sister do something stupid and the police beat the hell out of them, I bet all of you will be singing a different tune then. And stop throwing the president in everything, he’s not the blame for other people’s actions.
People are fool most Americans are racist fools…that’s why the world hate you fools…I’m a police and those motherfuckers are racist as hell…she could have behave better no doubt…but America as more problems than jaywalking…fuck… you are all stupid as fuck.
I believe that man or pig is a woman beater!!! They should have killed him I would….my father or mother have never lay a hand on me before…he could have got about this ten million other ways
