Congressman Bob Etheridge is already regretting an appearance he’s made in a student video that’s gone viral today.
A seemingly innocent question posed by students doing a school project turned ugly when they asked the North Carolina Rep how he was doing.
As you can see in the video below, Etheridge’s response was uncalled for and borderline illegal. He takes the student by the wrist and won’t let go. The student asks him to let go but Bob refuses, persistently asking who they are. He then cuffs him by the neck and pulls the student towards him, still asking who they are. Paranoid much, Bob?
Is he worried that they were trying to set him up to look bad – cause we’re pretty sure he did that all on his own.
Oh when will politicians learn that their dirty laundry will ALWAYS be aired for the world to see?
In his defense, Etheridge released a statement of apology today:
“I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.”
Try harder, Bob. Actions speak louder than words.

Umm... I'm guessing that wasn't an "ordinary student." Especially when he's taking great pains to call himself one.
