England vs. USA World Cup 2010: Can USA Secure a Win?

By AAyles on June 12th, 2010

It’s one of the most anticipated games of the first round and it takes place today. England will go head to head with USA in a game that’s expected to be one of the most unpredictable matches of the competition.

The USA team has stepped up their game this year and many experts believe they might have the ability to pull off a win today. While England is favored to win over the United States, there’s no denying that the Americans may come out of today’s game with a victory. The question no longer remains whether the US team has the ability to win against a top-notch team but do they have the staying power to consistently win against top teams throughout the competition. Most agree, the USA team will come up short in the end.

Nevertheless it will be a huge upset for England should they not be able to secure a win today. The English team has world renowned players like midfielders Frank Lampart and Steven Gerrard and the talented John Terry in defense while the USA team is lacking any outstanding players that can individually compete with the skills of these top-notch players.

While many predict that England will easily and effectively finish today’s game with a win, it’s not implausible that the USA could come out on top.

At the end of the day, it will be a huge upset for England if they walk away today without a win.
