America Is Kinda Violent

By Mark Lorenz on June 10th, 2010

It’s never been said that America is a nonviolent country. In fact, if you ever said that, I’d punch you in the mouth.

Who are you to say we’re nonviolent? We’ve got, like, points to prove. We’ve got issues to get through, and we’re going to barrel through them straightaway with our shoulders and our head. Like they’re a brick wall, then pummel them to the ground and shoot them in the stomach. Because we’re America. That’s how we roll. And according to a study done recently, we’re one of the bottom in the peace ladder. Which is a ladder I will never climb, because I’m not a patchouli smelling hippie.

Iraq is the most violent nation in the world, partially because of our involvement. It’s followed by Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Israel, Georgia, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We’re 85th. Below Cuba and China and ahead of Angola.

The most peaceful places in the world? New Zealand, Iceland, Japan, Austria, Norway, Ireland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Finland and Sweden. All of which are places that I would like to tour. Peacefully. The index came from an Australian entrepreneur who was interested in quantifying what made a country peaceful.

World peace would save the global economy 7 trillion dollars a year, and wouldn’t be possible because of human nature.
