Tom Cruise played a huge part in the success of last night’s MTV Movie Awards. Reviews of the 2010 MMAs claim that the show fell below par, with too much profanity and not enough entertainment. Besides Sandra Bullock’s girl-on-girl kiss with Scarlett Johansson, Tom Cruise was the highlight of the night.
Tom performed in a few short clips (including one with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner) at the beginning of the show but it was his performance with Jennifer Lopez that’s making headlines today.
We thought the choreographed number was incredibly entertaining but it seems as though there are many who disagree.
Tom’s receiving mixed reviews this morning but we’re not sure how you can honestly watch this video (below) and not give Tom the credit he deserves for both putting himself out there in front of millions and for being 48-years-old and jamming with JLo on stage.
There are many people criticizing Tom Cruise today (with headlines like “Tom Cruise was Unimpressive at the MTV Video Awards”) but we have to say their opinions are BS. Tom Cruise was very impressive last night – and without him, the entire show would have been less-than-impressive overall.
Come on, people, have a sense of humor!
Maybe Tom Cruise will become a contestant on next season’s Dancing with the Stars?

this tis the funniest i have seen tom cruise in a long time. i enjoyed watching him. it made him look human again and not crazy.
My 9 year old looks forward to the MTV Awards every year so I usually tape it for him. This year I had to delete the show, this was apalling at the amount of profanity/curse words/sexual scenes!!! And where was the entertainment, yes Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez were incredible, but honestly that was the only entertainment I saw. Christina A was horrific and a copycat of Lady GaGa and not well at impersonating her either. Bad taste in my mouth today about those awards.
Loved how well Tom Cruise did at the dancing!!! I thought he was a little over doing it with the Rpatz and Taylor Lautner bits, but all in all, credit goes to the guy who is willing to fully commit to the role…rpatz could learn a thing or two!
Tom Cruise always strikes me as a really serious guy….but his performance with JLo was the best part of the award show. He showed that he can be a funny guy and I’m a big fan of JLo, so kudos to them for making the night
Tom Cruise can do anything!!! The awards show has become nothing but vulgar, sex driven, obscene and degrading. This was funny and a welcome snipet in the boring and waste of time for the other parts of the show. I also am getting tired of the sensationalizing of “girl on girl” kissing. They say how Adam Lambert’s show of affection was offensive so hear we go with the double standard. Go back to the good ole days where everyone was just drunk or high on the show but able to actually perform and be entertaining and not offensive.
Are u kidding? Wow can’t believe Tom could be a funny guy!! And he can dance without trying hard!! I love Tom!! A Great serious Actor could be funny too!! Unbelievable!! I’m glad he is back!!
