The series finale for Lost aired a week ago and most of the show’s mysteries were answered (Spoiler Alert: they were in purgatory after all. I know. Lame, right?). Sure, there were a few unanswered questions, but the smoke monster (AKA the man in black AKA fake Locke) was defeated once and for all, right?
Maybe not.
Millions of people in the northeast stepped outside today and got a face full of smokey air. Oh no! Did the smoke monster escape the island and is he here to judge us all?
Not quite. The smoke is the result of raging forest fires in Quebec. More than 50 wildfires have created a large plume of smoke that has extended past Montreal all the way to Boston.
Eastern Massachusetts is currently under an air quality alert and will remain that way until Jack can get back down to the mysterious source of light at the heart of the island and put the cork back in. But he’ll need Desmond’s help, because Desmond is immune to electromagnetism. Let’s just hope that Kate doesn’t let her feelings for Sawyer get in the way and mess things up like she always does.
Okay, that stuff isn’t all true. Seriously, though, maybe skip your evening jog if you live in the Boston area (especially if you have respiratory issues or allergies). The smoke is expected to mostly dissipate overnight, as the winds change.
