In an example of how badly American Idol wants to barrel towards its own irrelevancy, Brett Michaels is being rumored as a replacement for Simon Cowell.
I think that bears repeating. American Idol is thinking about hiring Brett Michaels to replace a contemporary television icon. It’s not like Simon Cowell is by any measure charming. But what he lacks in charm, he more than makes up for in entertainment. He’s honest in an industry where people do nothing but talk out of their rear ends and outsource their talent to producers, and even though he’s produced people who do the exact same thing, he’s still immensely entertaining and responsible for spawning a franchise that has captivated American audiences. And British audiences. Etc. etc. etc.
But Brett Michaels? He can be entertaining and he’s really good about nailing skanky-looking women, but nailing down a star? He’s enthusiastic and clearly is down for nothing but a good time, but will he be down for finding good singing talent?
Cause an 80’s hair-metal star picking stars out of a line-up is like a retarded Panda picking porn stars to have sex with. I’m sure it’d be an enjoyable thing, but would it merit any results?
We’ll have to stay tuned and find out.

Are you kidding who would be better than bret michaels to replace simon he not only has talent and understands the business and what its like to make it in the business he is also sexy and will draw in tons of viewers and if u don't know who he is...u might want to crawl out from under your rock.
