JaMarcus Russell Leaves The Raiders

By Mark Lorenz on May 7th, 2010

Not leaves, exactly. More like forcibly removed, and then the Raider Nation burned his Jersey.

If you’ve ever sat at the sidelines and watched as one of your favorite sports team ate it week after week, and screamed in frustration that the management wasn’t doing anything to help, today you are vindicated. The Raiders have released JaMarcus Russell.

JaMarcus will now be known as one of the biggest busts in NFL Draft history. And another notch in the Raiders’ storied, losing history. That has now been documented by Ice Cube. That’s right, Ice Cube, gangster rapper extraordinaire and thespian of the highest degree, has decided to make a documentary on the Raiders, Straight Outta LA, which I guess documents the sadness of being a fan of one of the losingest teams in NFL history. Then again, I’m a Bears fan, so I can sympathize with the plight.

JaMarcus raised eyebrows this week when he showed up for training camp weighing in at 300 pounds — after spending a year watching from the bench, collecting a fat paycheck. 300 pounds is not what a quarterback should weigh in at. Unless he’s quarterbacking a reunion of fat Elvis impersonators. JaMarcus’ contract was worth 68 million dollars, provided he played for six year, but the Raiders office decided to terminate it early.

Meaning he walked away with 31 million dollars. They paid 1.75 million dollars for every touchdown, and 1.01 for every interception. BALLLLLIN’.

The Raiders have one of the top 5 winning percentages in all of sports, they have a storied winning history, they have only been bad the last couple of seasons, which has a lot to do with this fat slob , he has a another fat payday coming in the live action remake of Fat Albert
