Glenn Beck is a crazy person. And nothing can convince me more of this than his tirade against perfectly normal holidays such as Mother’s Day.
What’s wrong with Mother’s Day? What’s wrong with Mothers? Mothers give you life, guide you along the way, help you to not become a raving pretend right-wing radio host. They do all those things. They help you get off of being hooked on alcohol and hard drugs. Maybe that’s why Glenn Beck hates them.
Glenn Beck was supposed to read an on-air advertisement for Vermont Teddy Bears – those adorable, custom-built teddy bears that have warmed many a mother and child’s heart over the years. You might notice that major companies never advertise with Glenn Beck, because his psychotic rhetoric has driven most of them away. So he has to advertise cash-for-gold schemes, and teddy bears. Sound familiar? Sounds like a traveling medicine show from the turn of the century. He decided, mid-pitch to disparage Mother’s Day as a holiday that’s evil, and invented by Woodrow Wilson. What that has to do with anything, I have no idea.
But we’ve included a link for you to enjoy the bloviating. And there is a great deal of that, when you listen to Glenn Beck.
We still love you, mothers.

Let's See? To start with he is by his own admission an alcoholic and drug addict. That says a lot about the man and coping with problems in life. He afflicted with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). ADHD is classified as a disruptive behavior disorder along with oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder and antisocial disorder *(1). Symptoms of ADHD such as blurting out inappropriate comments and impulse control to name just a few seem part of Beck’s personality. Sounds like a child acting out. A National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) study on acting out cited possible causes such as weak bonding with parents, impotent parenting, home environment, and acting out. Acting out behavior is often manifested in children as temper tantrums. *(2) Whether these are manifested symptoms of ADHD or merely a persona makes understanding his actions even harder. Is it ADHD or just some sick little game he gets a perverse joy from perpetrating? If it is the former he should be pity and given some leeway. If it is the latter he should be seen for the charlatan he is. As for outburst about Mother’s Day, remember that President Woodrow Wilson was a Democrat. So I would suspect that any thing associated with Democrats is suspect to Beck.... He yaps about people leaving church if the pastors say anything that sounds subversive (read: liberal). Funny that last bit! He is a converted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). Nothing wrong with that per say. I was to for all of five years. What is strange about his comments on leaving churches is the very same reason I left that church. The LDS Church leadership spoke often of how we should exercise our right to vote and to vote for the political party that espoused the virtues of the LDS Church. So with all of that and perhaps more, the fact he's a Raving lunatic, seems explanation enough to me! *(1). From Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder at Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attention-deficit_hyperactivity_disorder *(2). That was the worst Vermont Teddy bear commercial I've ever heard. They would be fools if they didn't drop him instantly. How can you be such an ogre as to disparage something as innocuous as a teddy bear? Or mothers for that matter.
