Roman Polanski has finally broken his silence regarding his possible extradition to the US. And lo and behold, though he might be a good filmmaker, he sucks at PR.
First off, Roman wrote a long and angry missive about his feelings regarding the matter. It was run in the online magazine of one of his most prominent supporters – a French philosopher with an online magazine. Great. An online magazine. Maybe he can philosophe up some funding for a magazine that’s printed on paper. With friends like Roman Polanski I’m sure you can succeed in any visual medium you put your mind to. Also, when you’re about to be tried for a rape that’s not been prosecuted for many years, holed up in your Swiss chalet people are really wondering what sort of emotions are bubbling forward from your brain.
So what have we learned so far? Roman Polanski writes like a fourteen-year-old with a MySpace account. Also, he steals phrases from Take Back The Night rallies, saying he can stay silent no longer. What a poet. What an artist. What a…weird man, who decides to play the moral high card related to a crime he committed years ago.
