Phillies Fan Tasered – YouTube Clip Evidence

A 17-year-old Phillies fan was tasered during last night’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals and the event is sparking media interest today.

The incident has become extremely controversial as it was evident that the young boy was not a threat to anyone’s safety and could easily have been detained without being hurt.

The policeman who tasered the supposedly uncontrollable fan is now being questioned to find out whether that level of force was necessary considering the circumstances.

“The teen, wearing a red Phillies National League Champions T-shirt and khaki shorts, was running around the outfield waving a white towel and eluding security. A uniformed officer pointed the Taser at him, fired and didn’t miss, taking the boy down face-first, like the way Pete Rose used to slide,” Fox 29′s Steve Keeley reported.

Footage of the incident was not caught on live TV but many fans have uploaded cell phone videos to YouTube. We think tasering the boy was excessive, but that’s just our opinion.

Take a look at the video footage below and tell us whether you think it was necessary for the cop to taser the kid.

  3. A. anybody who gets tazed is funny
    B. the kid was fine after the trigger was released.
    C. he should have dressed up like Green man

  4. I think using the taser was excessive in this case.
Get security personnel who are in good physical shape and they could catch the runners without the use of force. It was especially clear he wasn’t going to hurt anyone.

  5. If the fan was in his seat her wouldn’t be tasered. Furthermore if he had stayed off the field I would submit it wouldn’t have happened either. Fans think if they pay $50.00 they have permission to be part of the game. No, That is why the players ger much more!!! Stay in your seat or at least off the field. Cheer for your team and out of the game.
