Barack Obama Is A Hilarious Man

By Mark Lorenz on May 3rd, 2010

Not only is Barack Obama a uniter, a record-breaker, a generally all-around decent fellow – he’s also really good at telling jokes. Basically, the man has no weak points. He’s like a superhero – and we must all hope he doesn’t turn against us.

The White House Correspondent’s dinner is a melting pot, where politicians get together with celebrities, Jay Leno, Rachel Ray, Justin Bieber, White House reporters, and other people heavily involved in media, reporting, and serenading tween girls. Basically, anybody who’s anybody in Washington participates in the Correspondent’s dinner. Part of the evening? The president telling jokes. As you may recall, during the Bush years, most of the joke-telling was lame, and borderline offensive – which is what I’m sure flew during his college years.

But Barack don’t play that. The president presented a crisp, clean, set worthy of anything that’s ever been preformed at a Friar’s roast by Jeffrey Ross. The sad part was? He was followed by Jay Leno, whose trademark benign humor seemed old-fashioned and completely misplaced.

Highlights of Barack Obama’s set?

-Saying David Axelrod posed for a Krispy Kreme catalogue

-Calling Scott Brown a tween heartthrob

-Made fun of McCain not identifying as a Maverick

-And making fun of Leno following him.

All in all, a good show. And everybody reacted positively.
