Bad news for anyone who enjoyed Daniel Craig as the latest incarnation of James Bond. The next installment has been delayed.
MGM is in a constant influx being bought and sold to the highest bidder, despite being one of the most dominant studios in the past. Which should make you sad. MGM produced such classics as Gone With The Wind, It Happened One Night, The Wizard Of Oz, Ben Hur, and every successful musical with Fred Astaire, for the most part. Essentially, MGM was one of the most dominant box office forces during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Unfortunately, that dominance came to an end, and since the mid-90’s, the studio has traded hands more times than your mom. Or your baby sister, due to your mom’s divorce proceeds.
MGM has one last great franchise: James Bond. Unfortunately, the last movie in the James Bond franchise was ALMOST the worst movie in the history of the franchise. With the most liberal, PC villain in the history of liberal PC villains. “I’M GOING TO DEPRIVE A SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRY OF WATER. MWAHAHAHA!”
So the new movie, rumored to be helmed by Sam Mendes, is on a break. It’s seeing other people. Hopefully not for too long, because Daniel Craig was the best Bond since Sean Connery.
