It has been 15 years since the Oklahoma City bombing, and the tragic loss of 168 lives. Men, women and children. It has been nearly 9 years since the execution of the bombing mastermind and executor, Timothy McVeigh.

The public outcry and hatred for McVeigh, as well as his actions, continues to resonate to this day. In a move to offer “insight,” MSNBC will present a special this evening. The McVeigh Tapes: Confessions of an American Terrorist.

In the excerpt video above, it’s obvious that McVeigh displayed no remorse for his actions, stating that there was no way the government could win in executing him. Certainly, for those directly affected and still feeling the effects from that fateful April morning in 1995, these taped interviews will open up old wounds and pour salt directly into them.

What seems obvious to me in the taped statements–McVeigh is trying so hard to paint himself as a liberator. Of what, I have no idea. According to McVeigh, the U.S. siege on the Branch Davidian, Mt. Carmel Compound in Waco, TX, was the final straw. What followed were reprehensible actions, followed by cyclical reasoning about how hypocritical the United States government was. His rhetoric continued until the day of his death, when he chose two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream for his final meal.

Curious... The recent arrests of a militia group, which, did not even fire a shot, but was arrested for conveying the intent to do harm, sounds kinda familiar with the intent of the Oklahoma Republican senator's statement. Makes ya wonder when a warrant will be issued, or, if his fellow senators will censure him in legal proceedings within the senatorial actions that they can take against "their own". Clearly, a chasm has grown between rational people and the discourse is such that we have lost some measure of good will towards our fellow Americans. Shoot, we sound a lot like some far eastern countries with how much distates there seems to be amongst this melting pot of people. Thanks Rachel and MSNBC.

Interesting story, I like how it was presented but Im really ashamed at MSNBC for going to the length of doing all this CG junk...it does not enhance the story one bit and it make this whole thing into the glitz and glamor of Hollywood...shame on you MSNBC

Definitely shame on MSNBC and Rachel Maddow... Mevey was a very evil person.. this is not Hollywood where people create characters to make money from... this was someone who brutally hurt and killed people and they are trying to break views to watch this (ad revenue)... I think we should boycott MSNBC for this... it makes me sick where the media is going.. no one gives a damn about Mickvey (spent wrong because I don't care to waste my time to look up the correct spelling)...
