Happy tax day, everyone! You know this is your favorite day of the year. Don’t front.
If you’ve finished your taxes, you can head out and enjoy some of the freebies and giveaways to honor the 15th of April, 2010. If you haven’t finished your taxes–what the heck? You’re a procrastinator. There are books that can help you with that.
When, where, what and how can you score something for free? Here’s a list of 2010 tax day freebies. I’ve looked into these freebies, and they all seem legit; however, a quick phone call to ensure time well spent is probably the best idea when considering franchises.
McDonald’s – Buy a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder w/cheese, and get a second for 1 cent. That way McDonald’s can count it as loss vs. a donation. I’m kidding, Ronald. Thanks for the almost free burgers.
Starbucks – Free cup of coffee if you bring in a reusable mug. I wonder–if I take in my own Styrofoam cup, would the baristas boo me out of the establishment? Regardless, this one is legit. Get your free coffee!
Chick-Fil-A – Here’s an interesting deal, though I would be sure to check with your nearest location: Chick-Fil-A, the greatest fast-food joint in the universe, is allowing you to purchase anything today, and when you bring the receipt back within 30 days, beginning tomorrow, you get the same item for free.
PF Chang’s – Really? PF Chang’s? They never give anything away. Word around the block–they’re giving a 15 percent discount on all tabs, excluding alcohol. It’s not much, but it’s something, and it’s PF Chang’s joining the tax day bonanza.
Cinnabon – This place is sinful. It always looks so good, and tastes so good for about the first four bites. Then, the devil starts feeding off the butter and taking a few, angry haymakers at your interior stomach lining. Luckily, Cinnabon is only offering their deal from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at mall locations, and they’re offering a couple bit-sized cupcakes to the tax day hoarders. Yes, the website is promoting it.
McCormick & Schmick’s – In honor of the IRS 1040 form, McCormick & Schmick’s is offering a $10.40 entrée menu, as well as dinner specials and drink specials. Every bar guest will also receive a $10.40 tax relief certificate, eligible for use at a later visit. And on April 16th? Tax Preparers Appreciation Day. Their website is boasting this magical announcement.
T.G.I.Friday’s – I just love when people call it, T.G.I.F.Friday’s? So. Friday’s is giving away their “Bonus Bites” cards for $5 on checks of $15 or more, and $10 on checks of $25 or more. Excluding alcohol–of course.
Boston Market – One free meal for each one you buy through Sunday with COUPON.
Yeah, there are more, but they’re generally relegated to geographic region. I’m sure you can catch wind of the local goings-on. Enjoy the free stuff, and be sure to sing “America the Beautiful” as you choke down your 4th free meal of the day!
