I wish there was an emoticon that accurately depicted dropping a monocle and a seven-foot bong simultaneously. Because Roger Waters is going to go on tour with The Wall. In it’s entirety. And here is where I would insert it.
The Wall is one of the world’s most beloved, best-selling rock albums, surpassing nearly everything man has recorded – save for Justin Beiber. Only Justin Beiber’s sweet melodies could almost surpass the sonic perfection of alienation that is The Wall. Like, perhaps Roger Waters will one day work up the courage to let Beiber sing over the vocals on that album, maybe…okay, I’ll stop.
This is a landmark event, as the album has only been performed 31 times before in concert, by Pink Floyd in the early 80’s, and then a few times to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall. The concert featured an actual wall being built between the band and the audience, and this revival will do the same, a 35-foot wax monstrosity being torn down and built up at different points in the show. The outing will see Roger Waters taking the album out for 36 dates across North America, staring in Toronto, and winding up in Anaheim.
So prepare yourself for the wonders of contact highs.
