Kitty Kelley has garnered a notorious name for herself for years. Beginning with her unauthorized biography of Frank Sinatra in 1986, moving on to her Nancy Reagan book, and most recently her work on writing up the Bush dynasty, she has courted controversy with her numerous scandalous allegations. However, this may all come to a close with her latest publication, “Oprah: A Biography”, about none other than the former queen of daytime television herself.
While some are saying that there’s nothing new in the book to chew over that Oprah hasn’t already admitted herself, there is one striking revelation: Oprah briefly dated and lived with John Tesh when the two of them resided in Nashville in the 1970’s. “Oprah and I were cub reporters in Nashville nearly 40 years ago and we dated for a short time,” said Tesh. Apparently, the big guy couldn’t take the pressure of being in an interracial relationship, so he quit. One wonders whether he regrets this decision, but hey, being married to Entertainment Tonight probably has just as many advantages, right? Haha! Yeah.
Kelley maintains that she has a lot of respect for how Oprah has acquitted herself over the years, having worked hard to rise to the top of her industry. Will this new book hurt the Big O at all? Probably not — Ms. Winfrey gets a lot of traction from what she herself drops on her adoring public. Look for a big “meh” from readers for this one.
