Charlie Sheen Leaves Two And A Half Men

Charlie Sheen isn’t going to have to wave a knife at CBS negotiators to try to keep them at bay. Or women. He is actually walking away from Two and A Half Men.

To the laymen, this might seem like a good career move. Like, Charlie Sheen’s going to go home, clean his life up, hang out with his partially estranged wife and get his life in order. On the other hand, he’s turning down 48 million dollars a year. 48 million dollars a year for 22 episodes of a three-camera sitcom. Of which he maybe works 8 hours a day for. So Charlie Sheen is turning down 48 million dollars for eight hours of work a day simply because he’s a drug-fueled, knife-wielding maniac. That would be insanity to any normal person reading this. But to Charlie Sheen, it’s just Friday.

Two and A Half Men enjoys some of the highest ratings on television, for the same reason I suspect Fox News does. People don’t change the channel. They just leave it on CBS and nod off with frequency. Possibly while drinking copious amounts of red wine.

It’ll be interesting to see how they pursue the show with Charlie Sheen leaving, or if they will at all.
