You can pretty much guarantee Nicollette Sheridan is crazy. It’s the Michael Bolton guarantee. Anybody who has had a relationship with Michael Bolton for an extended amount of time is pretty much guaranteed to be batty.
And now she’s accusing the show-runner of Desperate Housewives of smacking her in the face. Now, let’s get one thing straight. Show-runners are usually people so trapped in their own neuroses and created worlds that they barely have time for face-smacking. And if they did, their upper-body strength has been wilted away from hours of constant typing and re-writing to the point where if they did actually hit somebody, it’d feel like a butterfly softly molesting you. Nothing severe.
But Nicollette Sheridan is suing creator Marc Cherry for 20 million dollars. Can you think of a more arbitrary sum than 20 million dollars? I can’t. Marc Cherry allegedly beat her about the face after a disagreement on set.
A little background on Marc Cherry – he lived with his mom for most of his life and was a staff writer on The Golden Girls. You think he’s the kind of man who’d just choke out a bitch? I don’t think so.
Cast member Eva Longoria has commented to the press that she hopes the lawsuit doesn’t tarnish the shows reputation. I say season five did far more damage than any litigation possibly could. Zing.
