January Gessert and Reg-gie! Reg-gie!

Reg-gie! Reg-gie!

Yes, that is what I was cheering earlier this week when I heard Reggie split from the Kardashian of the Kim variety. As a Saints fan, I’m still not over the fact that she crashed the post-game Super Bowl interview with Reggie Bush and Tracy Porter. She literally pulled the perma-grin from my face.

I was hopeful at that moment Bush would give her the boot, or Tracy Porter would look over to her and say, “I can intercept a Peyton Manning pass, but clearly I can’t intercept Kim Kardashian from finding the nearest camera!” Regardless, it took just over a month, but Reggie kept the Super Bowl mojo rolling for this fan.

So. January Gessert. (Is it Gessert as in guess-urt, or Gessert as in dessert? Do we really care?) Gossip sites are reporting that Reggie was having an “affair” with Gessert, a waitress at the Sagebrush Cantina in the nearby Los Angeles community of Calabasas, and that she was the cause for the break-up of Reggie and Kim. Why are they reporting this? Because she apparently crashed at Reggie’s pad. Got that?

If she is the reason for the break-up, I have two words for this January Gessert:

THANK! YOU!

Reggie is not, nor was he ever married to Kim Kardashian. While I will happily accept “two-timing” as a potentially relevant term to be applied to the situation, I can’t roll with “affair,” or slapping this chick with the title of “mistress.” Huh-uh. Here lies an obvious problem within our contemporary society.

Dating relationships, regardless of the titles placed on the participants, do not–allow me to repeat–DO NOT carry the weight of a marriage. This girl simply can’t be his mistress by common definition, because Reggie and Kim–no nuptials!
