Well, hey there, Internet, nice to see you. Can I get you anything? Of course, you’re just here for the trailers; I understand. This weekend we’re looking at the openings of “The Bounty Hunter” and “Repo Men”. What are those, you say? I’m glad I pretended you asked!
“The Bounty Hunter” stars Gerard “SPARTAAAAAA!!!” Butler and Jennifer “The Nice Girl” Aniston. Butler’s previous job as a police officer has given way to his current profession as a bounty hunter, in which capacity he has to bring his ex-wife Aniston to justice, for a crime we don’t get to know about in the trailer. However, she’s apparently a reporter or something who’s got baddies on her trail, so she needs protection. Doodle doodle dee, wubba wubba wubba. Look to this film for some obvious jokes and mild action, which won’t at all be the reason you’ll see it. Instead, it’s Butler’s rough-hewn manliness for the ladies (and some men), and Aniston’s clean-cut girl-next-door appeal for the guys (and some women). It looks like the two of them have some nice chemistry going on, so it could be fun to watch them bounce off each other. Check out the trailer below:
Next up is “Repo Men”, which, despite what you’d naturally expect, is not the sequel to the classic Emilio Estevez flick “Repo Man“, sadly. Instead, it’s something a little different for both of its leading men, the awesome Forest Whitaker and the slightly less-awesome but still okay Jude Law. Not necessarily known for being action heroes, either of them, this movie looks like crazy futuristic combat a-plenty. In this future, prosthetic organs are available on a monthly payment basis, and if you miss your payment, your new liver gets repossessed — the hard way. All’s well until Law falls on the wrong side of this equation and hilarity and hijinks ensue.
It might just be me, but when did Jude Law lose his babyface and get all Kevin Spacey-esque? He looks like he lost a good 20 pounds on the Bruce Lee diet in this flick, and I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or not. This could be good, schlocky fun, and I’m looking forward to it.
