That headline got you, didn’t it? Nothing like a little bit of sensationalism to start your day off right. But according to scientists, it’s not all sensationalism, there is a downside to erectile dysfunction. Other than the obvious part.
Erectile dysfunction, if television ads can be believed, is a disorder affecting 90% of the male population. And it needs to be treated right now, with pills that will cost you an arm and a leg to get your other appendage pointed and readied for sexy times. In reality, one in ten men will experience persistent erectile dysfunction during their lives. Oh, god, what a depressing statistic. No wonder scientists have figured out penises before cancer. They’re probably trying to get it up as well.
But the survey — conducted over a group of 1,500 men — discovered that the heart treatments given to men did little to help their erectile dysfunction. Which, in of itself, is sad. But then ON TOP of that, the men with erectile dysfunction had a death rate that was twice as high as everyone else involved in the study.
So not only do your bits not work properly, you will be more likely to die. In short, your life is terrible. But the doctor in charge of the survey had some sage words.
I think we need to bear in mind that if somebody has erectile dysfunction, we really need to treat them.
Treat them. Treat them well. But you knew that already.
