I know, I know. Her talent was just too huge to be contained on the small screen. Heidi Montag, to the delight of internet bloggers everywhere, is going to move into films.
I hope she does so permanently, just so we can keep the talent level of contemporary acting around the bargain-basement level. Like, right above the level that it takes for MTV reality producers to whisper instructions to you off-camera. Like, a four collectively, out of a scale of 1-Reeves.
Heidi Montag was that girl that everyone loved to hate on The Hills, fighting all the time with Lauren Conrad and other rich, spoiled, and slightly-useless people. She went off and married Spencer Pratt, and by the looks of it, they’re going to die in some kind of publicity explosion a few years down the line. They try desperately to keep their name in headlines by doing things like firing publicists and hiring psychics, and talking crazy about Jesus and the like.
The best part of this story? It’s not just any movie. It’s not your run-of-the-mill horror film that casts young, impressionable starlets . It’s an Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston vehicle, where two people who hate each other pretend to be married, and then — guess what happens? Guess. They fall in love and probably learn things about themselves along the way that they didn’t know 120 minutes before you popped in the movie.
