Gay Prostitution Scandal Rocks The Vatican

By Mark Lorenz on March 9th, 2010

One thing you can always count on religious institutions for? Hardcore, awesome kinkiness. This is no different apparently in the Vatican, where investigators have just uncovered a gay prostitution ring.

Awww, yeah.

For some reason, I’m not that surprised. I don’t know if I’d be more or less shocked if it were a completely heterosexual prostitution ring, or a prostitution ring that dealt exclusively with talking bears, but wherever tradition with a whiff of oppression lingers, so does sexual kink.

If you’ve never been to the Vatican, you must do it. It’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and you can feel tradition coursing through it. Pulsating through it. Throbbing, if you will. But unfortunately for a member of the elite Vatican choir, and one of the Pope’s ceremonial ushers, they wanted other throbbing things too. Italian newspapers published transcripts of phone calls from Angelo Balducci negotiating with Thomas Chinedu Eheim about exactly what sort of men he’d want to have sex with for money. Eheim wanted to pay 2,000 euros for each man, and the probe into the corruption resulted in four others being arrested.

Balducci carried the coffin of Pope John Paul at his funeral.

The Vatican: because you’re not kinky enough.

They've already been busted with female prostitutes. This just brings the ring full circle. I love how they don't blame biblical mistranslations or suppression of natural sexuality, but have defended themselves with their chief exorcist saying the Devil has reached the Vatican. Um, really?
