Best Supporting Actress 2010 – Mo’Nique

By James Sheldon on March 7th, 2010

And the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2010 goes to:

Mo’Nique.

Mo’Nique. Comedienne by trade, and phenomenal dramatic actress by hobby? She’s got the goods, and now everyone knows. This will be a performance that actors, and acting teachers speak of for years to come–a true, tour de force.

If you haven’t seen, “Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire,” it is a film that only needs to be seen once to make a forceful, and lasting impact. After watching the film, I was trying hard to make myself laugh, and I stated that Mo’Nique deserved the Oscar for simply allowing the camera to go so close on her hairy pits. There was no fear in her performance, nor her acceptance, full of thanks to the Academy, Oprah, Tyler Perry and her husband.

Congratulations to you, Mo’Nique!
