Best Supporting Actor 2010 – Christoph Waltz

By James Sheldon on March 7th, 2010

The 2010 Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role:

Christoph Waltz.

Offering one of the most entertaining performances in 2009, Waltz somehow made a Nazi German endearing, hilarious, dynamic and creepy within a single scene–and he did it over and over throughout the Tarantino, dream version of World War II, “Inglorious Basterds.”

Praising the work of director, Quentin Tarantino, Waltz humbly accepted his Oscar, presented by actress Penelope Cruz. He declared the combination of Oscar and Penelope an “uber bingo,” and graced the audience with a modest and succinct acceptance speech, making him come across as cool as we all think he is!

It’s always wonderful to see mature talent introduced to new audiences, and it will be interesting to see who in Hollywood comes calling for the services of Waltz after this career highlight!

Congrats to Christoph Waltz!
