Nearly four-and-a-half years later, someone has finally been arrested for killing Kristen Charbonneau.
Like so many murder cases, the Charbonneau family thought their hope of catching the killer had come and gone. For years they pointed the finger at a local, Arlington, TX, businessman, Daniel Moore, and were socially dismissed for doing so.
Because there’s no way you’ve been following the case for the past four years, how about a little seed of catch-up: 25 years old, and working as an exotic dancer at the Fort Worth club Baby Dolls, Kristen Charbonneau was last seen alive on August 11, 2005. Witnesses reported that when she left on that evening, she was in the presence of Daniel Moore. Charbonneau was never seen again.
For two distraught and angry parents, hopeful that their daughter was still alive, a few eye-witness reports were all they needed to push their case and fuel their fire. Unfortunately, according to David Charbonneau, Kristen’s father, “We were told we were crazy, we were just targeting an innocent man that we were destroying his family and we had no proof.”
(A general observation: When people so passionately come to the defense of someone who is supposedly innocent, the defense simply seems–overly defensive.)
While crawling at an annual pace, investigators never closed the door on potential suspects. On Friday, February 26, 2010, their investigation led to an arrest, precisely where the Charbonneaus had been pointing all along: Daniel Moore.
The case only gets more interesting when dipping into the candid nature of a scorned father, who stated in an interview with CNN that he fantasized about taking the law into his own hands.
“I would wake up every morning and every night looking at my shotgun; it would be the first thing there, and there were many times it would be loaded.” Apologizing for thinking such thoughts, he also stated he developed a “hit kit” to nail the suspect to a tree, and “get him to tell me where my daughter’s body was.”

To the family of Kristin: AS A FORMER DANCER WHO TOOK RIDES HOMES FROM STRANGERS, WHEN I WAS INTOXICATED, IT SICKENS ME TO KNOW WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH.
