Someone at NBC has come out of the genius closet and thrown a few ideas on the table. The network, once again has a pulse. When all else fails, rely on the classics. CLASSICS. Like–the Olympics, and–”Eight is Enough!” As angry as I was during the O’Brien/Leno debacle, there’s nothing that can turn me on like elite level sports, and late-’70s TV reunions.
NBC’s Today Show has put together something pretty special this week. They are reuniting casts of hit TV shows from the ’70s and ’80s, and they kicked off the party with the cast of “Eight is Enough.” C’mon, now!? You think I’m not going to tune in to get a quick fix of Dicky Van Patten and Betty Buckley? One of my very best friends was named Nicholas, because of the show.
No, no. Never mind the fact that Adam Rich wasn’t able to join the reunion due to “stuff” that nobody wanted to talk about. He was a child-actor. Does the discussion need to go any further? Regardless, none of that matters, because he was still the kid who was cool enough to ditch his banana seat bike on the sidewalk during the show’s intro. And that bowl cut? Incomparable.
For dudes of yesteryear–dudes who paved the way for Manolith, this was the show with the girl-next-door hot chicks. It was also a show offering equal opportunity to hot chick and lonely spinster viewers who loved the late-’70s heartthrobs. Mr. Peacock, you’ve got a long way to go, but as far as I’m concerned, you’re on the right path!

Where was Susan Richardson, I wonder. No one mentioned her during the reunion nor did you, James...

Why did noone mention or give an update about Susan Richards? It was very strange considering that she was one of the eight.
