A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer 2 in HD
Trailer Park Movies | MySpace Video
UPDATE: Here is the final trailer, courtesy of the folks at MySpace. Personally, I don’t think it’s as effective as the teaser, but the movie still looks good. For one, I’m really glad they finally got around to addressing microsleep. Those sequences should be a lot of fun.
I love Freddy Kruger. As a child of the ’80s, you were either in camp Jason or camp Freddy, and I’m Freddy all the way. Even in the bad Nightmare on Elm Street’s (parts 2 and 6), I still find things to enjoy. But after 2003’s Freddy Vs. Jason, it seemed the Robert Englund-era had come to a close. Sure, they momentarily toyed with Jason Vs. Freddy Vs. Ash, but for all purposes the series had wrapped up.
Then Platinum Dunes announced they were remaking the gloved one (er..the other gloved one), and casting Jackie Earl Haley to step into this iconic role. This week, after months of relative silence (teaser trailer was released in September), we are finally getting a roll out of some sort. Here’s what we have so far:
Producer Brad Fuller has Tweeted that tonight (Wednesday) will see the debut of the full trailer. We’ll link to that when it goes up.
Previously this week, we saw the toy line coming from NECA, we got new stills and the new official one sheet (which is a variation on the teaser poster).
Overall, I know it’s in to shit all over PD about their remakes, but I liked their Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th remakes. I love the world of Nightmare on Elm Street, and would love to see nothing more than a good remake, with new stories to follow. From everything I’ve seen, this has a good chance.
