CBS Announces William Shatner Will Be Dad In Sh&t My Dad Says

Shat-1William Shatner: still king of the nerds.

“Shit My Dad Says” is a Twitter feed that may or may not be the imagined conversations of a twenty-something with his dad. The feed, exemplifying ways new media streams can be converted to MAD NETWORK DOLLARS, was optioned by CBS to be turned into a sitcom that would hopefully rival their lucrative franchises such as Two and A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory. I now have to shower after typing that sentence because it corrosively attacked my moral fibers.

So who’d they decide to cast? Our boy Billiam. Shatner is the lord of meta-cool, after releasing spoken-word albums of contemporary pop songs and being detached and ironic about being haunted by a role in a lucrative franchise that has kept him afloat for more than 50 years.

It’ll be interesting to see what direction this will take, either a really hilarious, unexpectedly cool sitcom, like Community can be at times, or if it’ll go to the realm of the completely banal Geico Caveman series. You know, the show based on the Geico caveman commercials.

Alls I knows is if Shit My Dad Says can get a network TV deal, where’s Manolith’s? Can you tell me that, Mr. Fancypants network executives?
