If you’re anything like me, you’re terribly, terribly excited about anything Pixar touches. Which includes the Toy Story franchise. Which will very quickly make it to a third installation. Which makes me…..gah…lord….I need to change my clothes.
Pixar, being the press-friendly, hype-worthy, giant of a movie studio has decided to slowly leak out pictures of upcoming characters from Toy Story 3. One of the first? A Ken doll, voiced by Michael Keaton. The image is provided above, and, just from looking at it, had me cracking up. I wonder which direction they’re going to take the Ken character? I just can’t decide from the images….
The first two Toy Story movies helped make Pixar as a brand, and still stand the test of time in terms of storytelling and entertainment. They were re-released in October of last year for a limited 3D engagement in theaters, and to drum up interest for the upcoming sequel, scheduled for a June 18th release date.
And personally, I can’t wait. I’ve never seen a bad Pixar movie. They’re all solid in terms of drama, plot, and character development, and if these initial character sketches are any indication, twill be epic, son.
Mark your calendars. Mark them well. For the 18th of June will be a day for the toys.
