Forget “Snakes on a Plane” or underwear bombers, the explosive nature of an airline crisis is bumped to an extreme level when you put a high-powered, white politician in the seat behind a rapper who wants some sleep.
When the story first broke on Monday, we all thought Mitt Romney was “assaulted” by some crazy person flying from Vancouver to Los Angeles. Nope, it was none other than rapper Sky Blu, of the Grammy Award nominated group LMFAO. The first question we all want to ask, why were two rich, untouchables flying in coach? And the second question, what really happened?
According to Romney spokesperson Eric Fehrnstrom, the passenger (Sky Blu) “became physically violent” when asked to move his seat forward before take off. According to Sky Blu in a recent video statement, it was actually Romney who turned the altercation physical in the first place, reaching forward to grab Mr. Blu by the shoulder after a couple attempts at playing verbal flight attendant. Sky Blu states that when he was grabbed by the shoulder, he threw his arm up and back to release the grip of Romney’s “talon.” At that point, Romney’s wife screamed, and it was on.
Romney stood and bellowed, “I’m tired of these mutha-frickin’ rappers on this mutha-frickin’ plane!” OK. No. He didn’t. A model citizen, Romney sat back and allowed the flight attendant to diffuse the situation. Yes, after starting everything in the first place. Canadian law enforcement authorities then removed Sky Blu from the plane.
Honestly, who is worse to fly with: the people who break the rules or the unauthorized people who attempt to enforce them?
