Tiger Woods Press Conference Start Time

TigerWoods“Tiger Tiger Woods, ya’ll…”

The man who goes by Tiger will finally break his silence on Friday, February 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST. Mark your calendars, and prepare to celebrate this day of importance for years to come. For those of you stuck at work, UStream is scheduled to broadcast the verbal blurb of Tiger. You know your boss will be watching, and it’ll probably only take 5 minutes, so go for it – soak up the importance of this life altering event.

When Tiger’s people announced this faux press conference, it became fairly evident that Tiger is who he has always been. A control-freak. The press conference is set to take place at the PGA Tour Headquarters in Ponte Verda Beach, FL, where Tiger will no doubt push the emphasis toward golf. (Honestly, I hope I’m wrong. I’d love to see some humanity from the guy, but I’m confident I’m right on.)

He’s allowing a few of his closest friends, associates, colleagues and hand-picked journalists into the room where he plans to answer no questions and “make amends” to those he has harmed. Will it be anything we’re not already aware of? Doubtful. He’s obviously completing his 12 steps, and making amends comes in at Step 9. His agent, Mark Steinberg has repeatedly stated that this is about taking the next step. And while many believe that means in Tiger’s career, I think Steinberg literally means “the next step” in his 12 step, sex-addiction program.

None of the Tiger Woods saga is going to get interesting until he steps back on the golf course, and the Tiger-haters get nasty, spitting their venom from the gallery. At that point, we’ll find out if Tiger has learned anything about humility.
