If there is one thing Glenn Beck can do, it’s blow pretty smoke. Credit to the conservative, “libertarian” talking head for bringing more topical irrelevance to American, and in this case, Texas politics.
In an interview with Texas governor candidate, Debra Medina, Beck led a line of questioning having to do with 9/11 and the truth conspirators who have suggested everything from United States government involvement to a massive cover up. Obviously catching wind that Medina was neither hot nor cold on the issue, and possessing a few “9/11 Truthers” on her staff, he opened the can of worms and shoved it in her face, asking her if she actually believed in the possibility of conspiracy. Medina was caught off-guard for the question, but she responded:
“I don’t have all the evidence there, Glenn, so I’m not in a place – I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some good questions have been raised in that regard. There’s some very good arguments that I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there, so I’ve not taken a position there.”
Piggybacking her just-left-of-neutral response with another off-topic shot, Beck asked if she disavowed individuals campaigning for her that held 9/11 conspiracy theories. She responded in kind, stating that she wasn’t in the business of mind control.
Got it, Glenn? She’s not in the business of mind control–or manipulation, like yourself and your brothers and sisters on both sides of the political spectrum. I’m surprised he didn’t launch into a line of questioning about the Kennedy assassination or the Apollo lunar landing–such things carrying such significant weight for the office of Texas governor.
As a former resident of New York City and an eye-witness to the events of 9/11–as in, I was standing on the street–I’d love to open my own line of questioning to someone like Beck, but what would be the point? You can’t win an argument with someone who will always justify their opinion as truth. So, instead, I challenge Beck to a charity boxing match! You know where to find me, Beck.
Ding, ding, ding. Let’s get ready to RUMMMMBBBLLLLEEEEE!

Thank you for your astute observations. I am shocked by the sheep bailing on her over such an ABSOLUTELY irrelevant topic. Lunar landing...hehe.

I was a fan of Beck, but after today's interview, I think he is a total jerk. Beck, Chris Matthews, and all the likes are the problem with America. When will the people grab these people by their collars and bend them over their knee and spank them like a naughty little child? I did not know who Debra Medina was until today so after listening to Beck, I went to her website and was impressed with her stances. I will be voting for her instead of Perry now.

Glenn Beck is a neo-conservative operative whose job is to hijack and redirect the Tea Party movement. The Tea Party movement was begun by non-interventionist, small government, pro-liberty and pro-Constitutionalist Ron Paul. Beck's rhetoric would have you believe that he is more aligned with Ron Paul than any other US politician but what does he do to Ron Paul. At a critical moment when Ron Paul was gathering huge grassroots support Beck has Ron Paul on his show for a full hour and then only at the end of that show he sinks the knife into Ron Paul's back and claims that Ron Paul is the leader of some kind of domestic terrorist group! Now look at what this creep Glenn Beck is doing now. The exact same thing. He brings on the only truly grassroots candidate for governor in Texas and aims to discredit her with the 9/11 issue. Even if Medina had said she was a truther. So what??! A huge sector of the US population are 9/11 truthers or at least have serious doubts about the official story. That's what the media doesn't want you to think. They want to marginalize 9/11 truth as much as possible. But it doesn't work because the truth is self evident to anybody that does their homework! BTW - Operation Northwoods people. Read about it. That is the evidence in the US Army's own documents that the US military has planned to carry out false flag attacks involving US airliners on the American people. READ ABOUT IT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods

I love these comments, people! I was hoping to stir the pot, and now I have to make one additional statement: As stated, I was an eye witness to the 9/11 attacks in NYC. I have NEVER, in good conscience, been able to believe what we've been told to believe about that day. Many people who witnessed these events feel the same way. That is the only thing I can say with certainty. To quote one of my favorite writers: "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark."

Lets get the FACTS STRIGHT GLEN This is what has been posted to the medinafortexas website. Everthing has been taken down from the main page and this is what is there now. Medina Campaign Responds to Glenn Beck Interview by Debra Medina on Feb 11, 2010 I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones. The question surprised me because it’s not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty. It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group. The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it’s Rick Perry and his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout. It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government. Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway. I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that’s the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.

I don't see Glenn as my one source of info and either should you. I do respect the fact that every major topic he has covered he has been correct on. Even though the White House seems to feel the need to make fun of him they have not been able to dispute his claims. Calling him an idiot, fascist jerk doesn't count, this isn't kindergarten. Glenn is someone who understands and researches American history and he knows what made us the greatest country in the history of our world. He also sees that the Federal government is destroying the very things that made us great and he is trying to get people to understand what is happening. Don't just agree or disagree with him or anyone else, do some real research on our founding fathers and how/why our country was founded and then make your decision about what is happening. Don't let anyone think for you!

I'm guessing she was going to ask Rosie O to be her lt gov. You people are nuts. Beck didn't blindside her. If she can't clearly answer such a simple question, she doesn't deserve to be the head of the dog pound.

You people sticking up for Beck really need to do some research. Beck says we have a Communist in the White House, named Barack Obama. Are you telling me that if a Communist can get to be President of The United States of America, that New World Order cronies like Beck cannot get on the radio as the fake opposition? Think about that statement, read it a couple of times, and then realize when a country gets taken over, the people taking it over have their people in power on both sides, and they most surely take over the radio and the television first and foremost. Obama is on the same side as Beck, as Bush, as the Clintons, and as most politicians in D.C.. I am so glad I found out the truth so now I can work on changing this country for the better. Debra Medina for Governor, Ron Paul for President 2012!!

It is a fact that Rick Perry has connections with the Clear Channel in Texas which hires Glen Beck. This channel has continually been making donations to Rick Perry since 2001; donating over $287,000. Check it out: lasthttp://www.burntorangereport.com/dia...k-debra-medina It is a fact that Glen Beck has been loyal to Rick Perry the whole time. When he invited Debra, it was to derail all the success she has been having with her campaign. I find it very immoral, unethical. Now, I can't even stand to see his picture.

If you live in TX you know that Perry has personal interest groups with ties projects in Texas, such as Trans Texas Corridor and Merk. I have no doubt something rotten is festering behind this interview. Before the interview Beck professes to no little about Perry and met him once in Tx. They had a short converstaion about an illegal alien situation which they agreed on so Beck then says he thinks Perry is an O.K. guy. Recently in a radio interview to defend what he did, I now hear him say he "hates Perry and Hutchison"! If you really follow him closely you will find he contradicts himself alot. TEXANS, vote on the relevant issues and please don't be distracted by the typical games in elections to divert our attention. Medina is one of us and a true Constitional scholar. One of Becks 9 Values states that it is not Un-American to question authority or your Government. So what the Beck is going on? Don't forget #3...I will try to be more honest today than yesterday.
