If Andy Roddick was disappointed about his early exit from the Australian Open, having his wife revealed as the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue cover girl has got to make everything better. Instead of people asking him about tennis, they’ll just harass him with countless questions and comments about how hot Brooklyn Decker is. “What’s it like being married to her?” “Dude…you’re so lucky!” “Your wife is smokin’!”
Such should bode well for Roddick, who is one of the game’s most intense, sarcastic players–maybe he’ll turn his attention from making snide, yet humorous comments directed toward chair umpires, and rip into a few fans…of his wife.
Thanks to Late Night With David Letterman, a humorous twist was offered with the 2010 Swimsuit Issue reveal. Letterman first revealed a nude Scott Brown, to which nothing, even if it were the worst swimsuit cover in the history of the Sports Illustrated “Swimsuit Issue,” could offer anything but relief. When the real curtain dropped, Brooklyn Decker stood, all smiles, half-bikini’d, on the cover of the SI Swimsuit issue.
Scoring the title of “Swimsuit Issue” cover girl offers more than just being on the cover. Look at past cover girls Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum, and you know it’s only a matter of time before Brooklyn Decker is a household name with a reality show, clothing line and set of opinions to rival that of her husband. Honestly, who wouldn’t go for reality TV starring the new power couple? I’ve long said that I would be thoroughly entertained by a series documenting Roddick’s wit. Now add a little sugar to the spice and BRAVO has their next big hit.
