Once upon a time golf was just for snobby old farts, but throw in the insane skill, popularity and scandal that is Tiger Woods and now you have a sport that appeals to almost anyone.
The best thing about golf is that you don’t even have to be in great shape to do it, hand-eye co-ordination is pretty much the only prerequisite. Plus, golfing is the only sport besides bowling where drinking is permitted on site – whipping around in golf carts from hole to hole is an added bonus.
So what exactly is a golf school anyway some of you may be asking and that’s a very good question because the name is used in several different ways. Some golf schools basically double as a golf vacation where you get to travel someplace sunny and stay for a week while working on improving your golf game and enjoy the surroundings. Then there are the golf schools that prepare you for a career in the golf industry as a professional golfer, golf course manager, golf tournament manager and more. These schools have programs that may last two years or more.
The last alternative of the golf school combines golf lessons and golf clinics at your local golf course. You’ll learn golf tips, receive personalized and detailed golf instruction and have fun at the same time. Registering for a golf school also means that you’ll be learning as part of a group rather than one on one, so there’s also the chance to hobnob and make some new golfing buddies at the same time.
Getting golf instructions can also help you out in other ways; some go so far as to suggest that you can actually get a promotion at work by golfing with your boss. Knowing how to golf and being confident out on the course will go a long way towards making a positive impression on your superiors. Don’t quite believe it? Well, neither do I…but at least you’ll have something prepared to tell the missus on your way out the door when you’re going golfing for like the 10th time this month!
