2010 Grammy Winners

By Chris Stout on February 1st, 2010

lady-gaga-elton-john-grammysThe 2010 Grammys kicked off with a tripped-out, glitter-schmutzy duet that paired Lady Gaga with Elton John. Both circus acts put on their best wigs, broke out their finest sparkles and rolled around in some serious filth before using dueling pianos (covered in roasted mannequin arms) to make music magic. Once Gaga and Elton were done inserting their names into Bernie Taupin lyrics, people started passing out awards.

Taylor Swift got four Grammys (including Album of the Year), but Beyoncé collected six and led the night in awards and Alanis Morrisette covers. Beyoncé won for Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocalist and Best R&B Song. She was also recognized by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for having the greatest video of all time.

And what else. Michael Jackson got a tribute, and his kids accepted a lifetime achievement award named after their dad. The Black Eyed Peas took home three pop-related awards. Record of the Year (not to be confused with album or song of the year) went to Kings of Leon. “Poker Face” and The Fame earned Lady Gaga two music trophies. Eminem won for Best Rap Album, and Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West won the Best Rap Song Grammy for “Run This Town.” Stephen Colbert won for his Christmas comedy album and Ziggy Marley got a Grammy for Best Children’s Album.

Other awards were given too, for stuff like Country, Metal, New Age and a whole bunch of other things you don’t listen to. Here’s a full list of all the Grammy winners for 2010:
