If you want to know how badly the Nazi party has fallen in recent years, look no further than Brighton, Colorado.
I used to do a joke onstage that I thought the people who invented Adopt-A-Highway were tired of adopting things they couldn’t run over. In this case, you can insert your own horribly racist joke, because the National Socialist Movement, America’s Nazi Party, decided to adopt a highway in Colorado. Nazis have decided to adopt a highway. No word yet on whether it’ll have tolls for the Jews and the immigrants, but I’d be willing to bet they’re not far behind.
Understandably, Colorado has been in an uproar over the whole ordeal, but because Adopt-A-Highway and hate speech are protected under the rights of the First Amendment, nobody can take the Nazi’s highways away from them. There’s no sort of legislative Patton we could hit them with.
I hope a bunch of hate groups adopt highways. Seriously, I do. I don’t see what the problem is. They’ll be cleaning our roads, which is what they should be doing with their lives. They’ll be constraining their hate to small, mile-long segments of gravel.
And I’ll be more likely to litter there. And I encourage everyone else to do the same.
Colorado should do what I heard was done elsewhere. Change the name of the highway. Many choices, John Chavis Highway(black educator),Cesar Chavez Highway(civil rights activist) or even Barack Obama Highway. They would have to keep cleaning the highway(due to signed contract).
