They spoke of this day in the ancient texts.
If you are any kind of gamer of any stripe and take videogames seriously, you have to have played a Final Fantasy title. There have been dozens of games that span over a myriad of consoles, but they all have the same feature which will stand the test of time: incredible storylines. A team of writers, animators, producers, and character designers make sure the entire thing squeaks like a well-oiled machine. And the stories and gameplay hold up.
In comes the iPhone. The iPhone has been diversifying its gaming cred recently, releasing titles from franchises such as Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty. But in my opinion, no title is better suited for the touch-screen than the Final Fantasy series. And apparently someone agreed with me. Square Enix will be releasing Final Fantasy 1 and 2 into the Apple App store. And I will download it and play it until my fingers bleed.
If they ever release Final Fantasy IV (3 in the US) to the iPhone, you may never see me outside my house again.
An official release day has not been set yet.
