McDonalds-1Wow. As if you didn’t have enough reasons to eat at a McDonald’s, now that they’ve brought back the McRib, they’re now going to help you throw your content on the internet, in between bites of delicious chicken sandwiches, too.

One thing you learn very quickly as a blogger, is that free wireless internet is priceless. WTFLOL, you see what I did there? And the best places to get free internet are traditionally Starbucks, booksellers such as Barnes and Nobles, or libraries. Generally, restaurants don’t offer free wireless internet unless you’re a super-hacker who jailbreaks your iPhone and can tap into their mainframe, or something. But McDonald’s is being surprisingly progressive. They’re going to offer Wifi at most of their US restaurants–wait a minute, they call them restaurants? McDonald’s is many things, but a restaurant? If I sold GoGurt on a street corner that people could squeeze into their mouths and had a table for people to sit at, could I technically classify myself as a restaurant?

McDonald’s has 14,000 locations in the US, and about 11,000 of them are already wired up for you to use the internet and get fat simultaneously. This makes the corporation one of the biggest sources for Wifi. 16% of all Wifi in the US is now courtesy of McDonald’s.

Let’s hope your laptop has a grease shield. Grab a bucket, and let’s hit Tumblr.
