Did you see the shot that Kurt Warner took in that blowout mugging against the Saints? It was brutal. Warner toughed it out and returned, but he couldn’t do enough to reverse the beatdown. New Orleans was just too fired up. Hopefully that wasn’t Warner’s last NFL game. Whether he retires at the end of this season or not, Warner’s had one of the most interesting careers of any modern athlete.
After being cut by the Packers during training camp in 1994, Warner bagged groceries for $5.50 an hour in Iowa before joining the Iowa Barnstormers in the Arena Football League. The Rams picked him up in ’98 and shipped him to the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe. When Trent Green tore his ACL in the 1999 preseason, Warner stepped in and threw for 4,353 yards and 41 touchdowns while leading St. Louis to its first NFL championship in 48 years. Ten years, three Super Bowl appearances, two league MVPs and a bunch of records later, Warner’s put together an impressive Hall of Fame case.
But the biggest question that will be asked about Warner’s career is this: how the hell did his wife get so hot? Do you remember what Brenda Warner looked like 10 years ago?
